CYPRUS… THE JEWEL OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
Being a jewel in the Mediterranean Sea is why Cyprus is one of the most popular tourist destinations and an incredibly diverse place to live. Cyprus is a multi-cultural society influenced by many different countries that have inhabited our shores and left their unique mark throughout the ages. Medieval castles, Roman cities, Venetian Walls, Byzantine churches and Neolithic Settlements can be found along the Southern Coast. The island has established a reputation as a springboard for international investors accessing the large EU markets as well as the emerging economies of the Middle East, Eastern Europe, North Africa, India and China. Cyprus provides a plethora of opportunities for investors. Its market-oriented economy operates within a transparent regulatory and legal system based on the Common Law of the United Kingdom, and fully harmonized with the collective framework of laws and regulations of the EU.
Cyprus provides many advantages to the corporate sector, including the lowest corporate taxation rates in the EU (10%) with a broad range of double taxation agreements with 44 countries.
Foreign investors are able to utilize an advanced transport and telecommunications infrastructure, a highly educated, skilled and multilingual human capital base as well as a high standard of specialist professional services.
Moreover, Cyprus offers relatively lower operating costs with high quality services, including banking, tax, accounting, auditing, business administration, legal, investment and funds management. All these paired with the island’s enviable quality of life are the key ingredients that have made Cyprus stand out in the Global Investment Map.
The Areas
Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa with its spectacular white sandy beaches and its vibrant nightlife is, perhaps, the most popular tourist resort on the island offering a wide variety of restaurants, bars, night clubs, shops and medical facilities.
The town is built around an old picturesque monastery, a few hundred meters away from a harbour with traditional fishing boats and boats offering excursions to visitors. In Ayia Napa you can also find Water World Water Park, a paradise for adults and children.
A world class marina will be constructed there soon which will have over 600 births, man-made beaches, restaurants, bars, sports facilities and a five star hotel. Preliminary construction work has already begun.
Protaras
This area covers approximately 10km of the golden Famagusta coastline. Before becoming a tourist resort, it was essentially uninhabited and the area was mostly covered by a multitude of windmills, some of which still stand today, adding to the character of its landscape.
Artifacts uncovered during recent excavations dating back to the Greco-Roman era (58BC-395AD) suggest that the ancient town of Lefkola, notable in those times for its hustling port, was there.
Protaras area became an idyllic holiday resort largely due to the many beautiful golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters in its vicinity.
The area also has many hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, schools and hospitals making it ideal for holiday or residential purposes.
